Meet Ellie Costa, LMHC
I’m Ellie Costa, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and the owner of Saltwater Psychotherapy. I work primarily with adults—supporting people through many of the challenges that naturally arise across the lifespan.
Clients often describe my style as calming, grounded, and relational. I value authenticity and collaboration, and I strive to create a therapeutic relationship where you feel seen, respected, and supported at your own pace.
In addition to general psychotherapy, I have specialized training in:
-
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for trauma and distressing life experiences
-
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD
-
Perinatal and infant mental health, including pregnancy, postpartum, fertility challenges, and identity shifts related to parenthood
-
Mindfulness-based psychotherapy, integrating awareness, nervous system regulation, and present-moment practices
These approaches are woven thoughtfully into therapy when helpful, always guided by your goals and readiness.

Specializing in Therapy for
OCD
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is the gold-standard, evidence-based treatment for OCD. I help clients gently face the thoughts and situations that fuel their anxiety, building tolerance for uncertainty instead of relying on compulsions for relief, so they can reclaim their time, peace of mind, and sense of agency.
Perinatal Issues
The perinatal period bring profound emotional shifts. I offer compassionate support for individuals navigating fertility challenges, pregnancy, postpartum changes, loss, and evolving identity during this tender time.
Trauma/EMDR
EMDR is an evidence-based approach for processing trauma and distressing life experiences. I help clients work through the memories and beliefs that keep them stuck, so the past holds less weight and they can move forward feeling more grounded, safe, and whole.
